Introducing GifBoom for Android v2
It has been a long time since we first released GifBoom for Android. Our goal is bringing the best GIF creation and sharing experience to you on Android. Our v1 is our first shot. We have received thousands of feedbacks from you. And we’re happy to let you know that after a few months of work we’re unveiling our v2 today.
Opening our v2 app you will immediately see the new look & feel of our Holo theme look, a staple of the modern Android OS. And we’re bringing the same look to older Android 2.x and 3.x devices as well.
Another thing you will notice soon is the GIFs are much bigger, clearer and smoother. The downloading is fast and playing starts immediately. We have put a lot of efforts to ensure the quality of the GIF viewing.
And talking about actually making a GIF, we have streamlined the process. The Camera interface features a clean switch between Auto and Manual mode. We added the grid to help you frame the photos correctly. And a timer function gives you enough time to set up the perfect scenes. Clicking the Library icon bringing you the unique importing from video or photos feature. It is one of the most unique things you can do in GifBoom on Android.
For your browsing pleasure, we are also bringing our Top 100 User list. See who’s popular and follow your favorite people.
Another new feature we’re shipping is Channels. Everyone knows that Popular can only do so much and sometimes you’re just interested in some specific topics. Channels are our first step towards a better personalized experience. Right now you can browse LOL, Photo Booth, Artistic, Paranormal, Celebs and Sports Channels. We will surely write more about Channels in future.
It is a long list of feature and product improvement we have done for v2 and there are more for you to explore in the app. We hope you enjoy it. At the same time, we know that there must be some devices we didn’t cover in our test. So if you encounter any issues, please feel free to let us know. We have set up a special support page for Android v2 on our Support Center. Go there and write us a message and we will address it shortly.
As we said, GifBoom v2 for Android is not a finish. It is just a beginning of the best GIF social networks on Android. Thank you for your support.

What better way to enter tumblr, than with our official Android release. That’s right- as of today GifBoom is now available on the Android Market. So now your friends who don’t have iphones, can join you on their Android devices.
